Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, is
ready to submit himself to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) at any time to
ensure a thorough investigation into the processes for the Comoro Bridge and Dili
Road project.
“I say this to the ACC, I have received
information that, and this a secret of judicial investigation, but ACC should
be calling me, I say this now but am not able to say anything more, I told them
back then, just call me, don’t be scared to call me regarding the Comoro
Bridge, because it was I who decided it, call me regarding the road from Tasi
Tolu to here, and which is currently being repaired along the sea front. I said
why? How? I will answer, I cannot tell
you what I will say, but I only say this to the ACC, don’t be scared of calling
me, don’t waste time,” said PM Xanana to journalists last Monday 25 March,
shortly after the Council of Defence and Security had finished at the
Presidential Palace in Aitarak Laran, Dili.
Before this it was widely reported that the
ACC had already called the Minister for Public Works Pedro lay to answer
questions about infrastructure projects of the Fourth Government but nothing
further has been made public on the result of those investigations.
